Here is the setup for the above image

The background is a white reflector flashed with a vivitar 285HV on 1/16 with a blue gel on it. The camera is set to tungten white balance which gives that rich blue color. The lens is lit with another vivitar 285HV through white umbrella at 1/4th power with orange gel to bring the light seen on the lens by camera back to daylight.

Sunny 16 rule
Posted by Aniruddha Bokil at 12:39 PM Labels: exposure 0 commentsOn a bright sunny day, the correct exposure of any subject outdoors is 1/ISO at f16.
Example: If you are shooting at ISO 100, then the correct exposure would be a shutter speed of 1/100 and aperture of f16.
A fine tunning of the exposure can be done from this point.
The following site gives you the technique to arrive at correc exposure settings during various ambient conditions.

Angular perspective
Posted by Aniruddha Bokil at 8:06 PM Labels: Canon 40D, night shots, Strobe 0 commentsNo pp on this one except for cropping , sharpening and brightness/contrast...just basic stuff.

This is a setup to create bright field lighting. Background is a white reflector. A vivitar 285HV is fired onto it at 1/2 power. The glasses are kept on a slanting base, made up of another white reflector. The glasses are lit using another 285HV at 1/2 power thru a shoot thru umbrella.
The camera is also tilted by the same angle as the base on which glasses are kept. This is how you get the slanting level of the water in the final image

They also organise weekly and monthly photography competitions apart form discussing ideas on the online forum. "Some of us are planning to take pictures of people violating traffic rules. Our intention is to educate people to observe traffic rules," informs Umesh. These are some of the core activities of the group: regular group shoots, outings as well as visits to photographic events, competitions to improve photographic skills, monthly lectures by visiting photographers and professional in the industry, understanding photography, organise exhibitions of photographs taken by members and best of all anyone who’s interested in photography is welcome to join.
